There are many vape kits around on the market. They have lots of different features such as variable wattage, voltage mode, bypass mode, and temperature control. There are hundreds if not thousands of vape devices, and it’s often quite daunting when trying to find one that will work for you. We will get into the different modes a bit later! But if you are looking for some of the best brands there is Vaporesso, Voopoo, Uwell, Aspire, Geekvape and there are many more out there!

So, let us go over what types of devices there are:

There are starter kits that are basic and easy to use. These will come with higher ohm coils for MTL (mouth to lung) so this will give you more of a tighter draw like a cigarette. This will help you kick that bad habit for the last time. They will contain a battery, tank, coils, and a charger wire. If you would like a recommendation, then we would suggest you take a look at the Aspire Flexus Stik.

These are another alternative to help kick that bad habit but these devices you will find a lot smaller than the traditional vape battery and tank. They will still come with a higher ohm coil/pod so it will be a tighter draw still. You will see a lot of people using nicotine salts with these. (Check out our E-liquid blogs for more information about these) - Kits usually contain the pod device, coils/pods, and a charger wire. An excellent choice is the Uwell Caliburn A2.

These devices are slightly different. These are capable of higher ohm coils but also lower ohm coils. This normally means there will be an airflow control ring so you can control how tight of a draw you will have. This is where lower ohm coils come into the mix. You can get lower ohms for DTL (direct-to-lung vaping) this is for more advanced vapers, where you take a draw and it goes directly into your lungs into the mouth, and having to take it back, so it hits the lungs. These coils are commonly known as sub-ohm coils and are below 1ohm. These will contain the device, a high ohm coil/pod, a lower ohm coil/pod, and a charger wire. These are more for the advanced vaper that has been vaping for a while. These kits are just DTL (direct to lung) you will get a box mod (some may take batteries, and some will be built in) it will come with a tank that will only adapt to lower ohm coils. These devices can put out a lot more power ranging from 1w - 80w up to 200w BUT don’t let that scare you as a box mod will allow you to switch and change your tanks so if you wanted a box mod but with an MTL tank that is possible. These contain a device, a tank, a couple of coils, and a charging wire. If you are looking for a recommendation, then we recommend the GeekVape Aegis Legend 2 L200 kit.

Finally...

These are devices that if you do not fancy getting a tank with your kit and would rather buy a tank separately. This will only contain a device and a charger wire. Ready for your own chosen tank? box mods are a bit trickier to recommend as it is more down to personal preference of how it looks. But if you do fancy a recommendation, we suggest the Vaporesso Gen 200 mod.

And a little tip from us:

If you go for a device that takes batteries, it is best to use a battery charger to charge your batteries rather than the lead that comes in the box. These leads can charge your device, but it is not recommended to. They are mainly put in the box for firmware updates. This only applies to the devices that take batteries - if you choose a device that has a built-in battery then you do not need to worry about this tip.

Now let us go over the different kinds of modes a sub-ohm kit or box mods device has.

This setting is the most commonly used and the simplest setting. The wattage is the amount of power that you will put through your coil. This can be increased/decreased to suit you.  The setting on most sub-ohm kits/box mods can start from 5 watts all the way up to 200w. This gives you the freedom of using all different coils - some can handle high wattage whereas some can only handle low, it all depends on what kind of tank you are using.

This is a setting that lets you define the precise voltage that is running through your device.

This setting allows you to remove the wattage from the equation. So, it relies on the highest voltage that it can get from the battery. This means you get a more intense hit as well as quicker clouds of vapor. Recommended for an advanced vaper that uses 8.

This setting gives you the ability to set a maximum temperature for your coils to reach. Your vape kit will alter the power output to ensure that your coil will never reach beyond the set limit.
